‘Telepathy Terrain’ is the fifth EP from the Brisbane/Meanjin, glitch-electronica producer, Andrew Foley. Andrew’s music has featured in ABC series, ‘The Heights’ and he also crafts atmospheric ambient music in duo, ‘YEARNS’.
Grids/Units/Planes’ fifth EP, ‘Telepathy Terrain’ leans into dispersed neural patterns. Across the release, crushed beats scatter like distracted thoughts and synth pads wash the sensory palette. The tracks condense synth, post-rock crescendos into timeframes for short attention spans. Across the release, melodies teeter between fragile, nostalgic, beauty and collapse. Grids/Units/Planes is the glitchy, dreamy electronica of Brisbane producer, Andrew Foley. The project fuses fractured beats with sun-warped melodies and drifting pads. Grids/Units/Planes draw inspiration from Warp Records artists like Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin but also from expansive post rock like Mogwai. The tracks often build from quiet, melodic bleeps into peaks of epic noise. On the ‘Diverge and Coalesce’ EP, Grids/Units/Planes dive deeply into 90s IDM influences with hazy hints of shoegaze and post rock. Ornaments of audio beauty glimmer throughout the EP, meshing with disintegrated drums and surging synth lines. This EP has been released alongside a text adventure game (like ‘Zork’ on Commodore 64).
